Receive your offer and pay deposit

2–4 weeks after applying

After admission, accept your offer and pay the enrollment deposit (€500–€1,000). The university will issue an official acceptance letter and may issue a formal invitation letter for your visa application. Request both.

Enter Cyprus on a short-stay visa

6–8 weeks before start

Zimbabwean nationals require a short-stay visa to enter Cyprus. Apply at the Cypriot Embassy or the Embassy of a Schengen/EU country representing Cyprus. Present your university invitation letter as the purpose of visit. Entry is typically granted for 90 days.

Apply for Temporary Residence Permit (M61)

Within 90 days of arrival

Within 3 months of arrival, submit Form M61 at the Civil Registry and Migration Department (CRMD). Pay €70 fee. You will need a Cyprus bank account reference for the application. The permit is usually issued within 2–3 weeks.

Open a bank account and register address

First 2 weeks

Open a Cyprus bank account (Bank of Cyprus or Hellenic Bank) early as it's required for the residence permit. Register your rental address with your local municipality. Get a Cyprus mobile number for local communications.

Course start
